SEO Predictions Week Pt. 4

GUESTS & RESOURCES

Episode Overview:

Join host Ben as the 2021 SEO Predictions conversation continues with Tyson Stockton, VP of Client Services at Searchmetrics, and Jordan Koene, SEO Strategist and Advisor to Searchmetrics.

These predictions are all about shopping and the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). Expect to see further investment by Google into the Google My Business and local features, such as the ability of local retailers to update their listings or notifications for healthy and safe environments at these locations. One thing is clear: the significant societal changes in 2020 due to the pandemic should provide new revenue opportunities for Google.

Last year was also record-setting for eCommerce companies, and Google doesn’t want to be left behind. Expect continued blending of organic and paid search (depending on anti-trust proceedings) and increased virtualization as Google makes use of its new free shopping listing data and other sources. And as Google continues to expand into the entire search experience, expect new technology and approaches for understanding brand awareness (without clicks).
