SEO Research Workflows

GUESTS & RESOURCES

Episode Overview:

Join host Ben as he kicks off SEO Workflow Week with Searchmetrics’ Client Success Manager Cassie Dell to discuss building the first part of your SEO workflow. Together they explain how to conduct SEO research and how it optimizes your workflow.

Your keyword list needs to address the who, what, when, where and why queries your consumers are using in search. As you begin conducting SEO research, analyze every aspect of your website to determine areas of improvement. Namely focus on areas that could improve ROI to keep research focused without going too broad.

Conducting competitor analysis is another integral step in the keyword research process. You want to see what keywords are working well for you competitors, which ones aren’t and how you can competitively differentiate yourself from them.

Context is key to effectively researching keywords. Any ambiguities in competitive knowledge, current marketing capabilities or future goals will hinder the success of your research efforts.
