On 16 December 2021, Google announced on Twitter that the November 2021 Local Search Update had been completed.
According to Google Search Central, the update started on 30 November 2021, and finished on 8 December 2021.
Google have been busy “rebalancing” a variety of factors they take into account when generating local search results. Of course, this statement leaves a lot of room for speculation and guesswork. We assume that the update will have little impact on local searches, which are mainly determined by relevance, distance, and prominence.
