Amazon’s Strikes Back!

GUESTS & RESOURCES

Episode Overview:

Join host Ben as he continues Black Friday Predictions Week with Searchmetrics’ VP of Services Tyson Stockton as they make predictions regarding Amazon’s reign in ecommerce. Together they discuss whether Amazon will retain their No. 1 spot in ecommerce or if Google’s latest new initiatives will chip away at Amazon’s lead.

Despite the gains Google made in ecommerce throughout the year, Amazon shows no sign of slowing down with notable gains throughout Q3 headed into Q4. Amazon’s competitors have launched Black Friday sale homepages and ads early, but Amazon’s ads haven’t launched yet. However, ranking data shows Amazon is leading in Black Friday search queries.

Amazon’s history of maintaining strong domain authority along with enough interlinks and signals guarantee its continued presence at the top of search. Even in the face of stiff competition from other big name competitors like Walmart, Tyson predicts Amazon will have its strongest Q4 performance yet.
